Holidays with your dog in Mallorca

There are many pet-friendly hotels and fincas all over Mallorca.

The holidays are getting closer and now the question arises: do we take our four-legged friend with us, or leave them at a dog boarding kennel we trust?!

There are many pet-friendly hotels and fincas all over Mallorca. Before making a booking, it is definitely advisable to contact the accommodation and ask what the maximum weight for the pet is and whether there are any extra costs. Unfortunately, this is not always obvious straight away, so it is an important step. At some places the weight limit is 5 kg.

For the flight, you should also check with the airline whether the animal may travel in the passenger cabin or in the hold.

Once you arrive, there are wonderful hiking routes to enjoy together with your four-legged friend. In summer, of course, you should always carry enough water and choose a route that also offers shade. Near the Cala Agulla / Cala Ratjada cove there is just such a great walk through woods and meadows close to the coast. The north of the island offers many opportunities to walk in the woods on hot summer days.

The “normal” tourist beaches are closed to dogs in summer, but in the off-season some also allow walks with dogs.

A really lovely dog beach can be found in Can Pastilla, towards Palma, at “Es Carnatge”, a nature refuge. All kinds of dogs meet here and can romp together on the beach and in the water. It does lie under the airport's approach path, but this does not seem to bother the walkers and the many people doing sport in the area. The relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful coastline make you forget any aircraft noise.

There are further dog beaches on the island in Pollença, Camp de Mar and Alcúdia.

We wish you an unforgettable time with your dog here in Mallorca

As everywhere on the island, please dispose of your dog's waste in the bins that can be found everywhere.
